Hoops Recruiting: 2019 F Chris Ledlum Talks Notre Dame Offer

July 31, 2018

It’s been a busy summer for Chris Ledlum.

A very busy summer.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound swingman from New York has gathered more than a dozen top offers over the last couple months from schools like Notre Dame, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Xavier and Wake Forest among others.

Ledlum said schools are recruiting him to play the small forward position.

“I’m very aggressive and I’m very versatile,” he said. “I can pretty much do anything on the floor.”

The offer from the Irish came back on July 23rd.

“I spoke to a few of the coaches and they let me know,” the Staten Island native said of the Notre Dame offer.

“Every offer is exciting, so I was definitely excited.”

His initial impressions of the Irish are positive.

“I know they have very high-level basketball and that they’re also good academically,” he said.

He’s looking forward to building a relationship with the Irish.

“I’m definitely going to stay in touch and go from there,” the St. Peter’s Boys’ High School star said.

That could eventually result in him taking a visit to Notre Dame.

“I don’t think I’d really have anything specific,” Ledlum said when asked what he’d like to see to get a better feel for the school and program if he did visit.

“I’d just like to see the campus and how everything is.”

Ledlum hasn’t taken any visits recently.

“I’ve actually been very busy with travel season,” he explained.

He hasn’t even locked in any future visits yet.

“As of now, I don’t have anything scheduled,” Ledlum said. “I’m not really sure.”

He doesn’t have a list of leaders yet.

“As of right now, I’m still open,” he said. “I’m still in the decision-making process.”

And he doesn’t know when he’ll make his final decision.

“I’m undecided as of right now,” he said. “I’m still figuring everything out.”

But he does know what he’s looking for.

“Definitely academics and great basketball and just a great coaching staff.”
