BREAKING: Notre Dame DB Shaun Crawford Tears ACL
Irish Sports Daily has learned through multiple sources that Notre Dame defensive back Shaun Crawford tore his ACL in practice on Tuesday afternoon.
The 5-foot-9, 181-pounder has had an uphill battle with injuries since arriving at Notre Dame. As a freshman, Crawford tore his ACL before an Achilles injury ended his sophomore season in the second game of the year.
A source told Irish Sports Daily this ACL tear is in the left knee, the opposite of Crawford's previous ACL injury.
In Crawford’s first full season of play in 2017, the Cleveland native recorded 32 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, two forced recoveries and forced a fumble.
Crawford was set to compete for the starting role at the nickel position with Nick Coleman.
