Kalel Mullings‍ has already been to South Bend a couple of times and the 2020 Massachusetts linebacker is looking forward to his return for the Irish’s game against Michigan on Saturday night.

“I’m very excited, definitely,” Mullings told Irish Sports Daily earlier this week.

Mullings made a visit to Notre Dame back in March and was back again in July, when he landed his offer from the Irish.

He knows he’ll get to see a different aspect of the school and program this weekend.

“Definitely just to see how the environment is on Saturdays,” he said of what he’s looking forward to most. “Obviously, I’ve been up when school has been in session and I’ve been up over the summer, but I haven’t seen a game yet.

“I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be like and how the fans are going to react and how the team is going to play.”

The Milton Academy standout knows former Milton Academy and current Irish kicker Justin Yoon, but hasn’t even had the chance to see Yoon during his earlier trips to South Bend. He’s looking forward to potentially reconnecting with Yoon this weekend as well as getting a feel for the other guys on the team.

“I haven’t really been able to see many of the players, but it’s still been nice,” he said.

Michigan was Mullings’ first offer and is another school he is very high on, so he’s looking forward to seeing the Wolverines in action as well.

“It’s going to be a big game,” he said. “They’re two pretty good teams coming into the season. I feel like it’s going to be nice to watch and see how both of the teams play each other and the differences between the two.”

Mullings also has offers from schools like Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Duke among several others.
