2021 Cass Tech Duo Takes In Notre Dame
Last week, Kobe King and his brother, Kalen King, got their first looks at Notre Dame for the Irish’s opener against Michigan and the 2021 prospects were not disappointed.
“It was good,” said Kobe, a 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker. “It was nice. I liked it. The fans, the environment, everything was good. I liked it. The defense did its part.”
Kalen, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound cornerback, agreed.
“I liked the environment,” he said. “It was nice to be around. The fans were nice. It was a good environment. I liked the team too.”
The brothers play at Detroit powerhouse Cass Tech. Kalen has an early offer from Iowa State, while Kobe has offers from Iowa State, Toledo, Morgan State and Morehouse.
“I’m happy about it, but you’ve got to keep working hard,” Kobe explained.
Kalen said he tries not to let the offer from the Cyclones get to his head.
“I like to stay humble and keep working,” he said.
The brothers had the chance to hear from multiple former Irish players and were impressed with what they saw during Notre Dame’s victory over the Wolverines.
“The defense was dominating, they played hard, fast and physical,” said Kobe. “Everything about their defense was all good. They play together as a team.”
Kalen added, “I liked the line, the front seven is one of the best in the country.”
He said he felt it was the kind of scheme he could succeed in.
“They’re aggressive, more aggressive schemes with the corner pressing,” Kalen said. “I like it.”
Both brothers are looking forward to continuing to build a relationship with the staff in South Bend.
