The NFL returned to Sunday afternoons over the weekend and it also meant several former Notre Dame players were in action.

Things went well for some and not so well for others.

Social Media Recap | NFL Week One

QB DeShone Kizer (Green Bay Packer)
Kizer spends much of his time as the back up to Aaron Rodgers after being traded to the Packers in the offseason from the Browns. The second-year signal-caller was forced into action week one against the Chicago Bears when Rodgers was carted to the locker room with an apparent knee injury. Kizer played much of the 2nd quarter for the injured star, but it was a rough go for the former Irish star in his time on the field. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder completed four of his seven pass attempts for 55 yards, but was sacked twice and also threw an interception. The Bears newly acquire defensive end did not make it easy on the Packers backup quarterback, Khalil Mack strip-sacked and intercepted Kizer for a touchdown on back to back drives. Rodgers ended up coming back in the second half to lead a 20-point comeback to give the Packers the 24-23 victory over the Bears.
