Film Don't Lie: Close to Great on Defense

It was another good performance from the Notre Dame defense. Holding Ball State to one touchdown in three red zone trips, not allowing a gain of longer than 18 yards, and giving up only 3.6 yards per play pretty much tells the story of that.

It was not a great performance, though. And it was oh so close to being that.

It was things like creating constant pressure and only finishing with one sack that made it so.
