2020 SG Grant Huffman Loving Notre Dame
After visiting Notre Dame back in April, 2020 Ohio shooting guard Grant Huffman was again blown away by a trip to South Bend this weekend.
“It went great,” the 6-foot-4, 175-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
The St. Edward High School standout had the chance to get a feel for the current players in the program – both on and off the field – as well as the atmosphere of the school in general.
“I got there and we played pickup with the basketball team,” Huffman explained. “It was fun actually. I wasn’t sure what it was going to be like, but it was actually really fun.
“I thought I fit in pretty good.”
Huffman, who has early offers from Xavier, Duquesne and Miami-Ohio, had the chance to take in the Irish football team’s win over Vanderbilt and spend more time with the players.
“The atmosphere was crazy,” he said. “It was unreal from anything I’ve ever seen before.
“I chilled with some of the players in their player room.
The Lakewood, Ohio native said he felt like he fit in with the players “pretty good.”
“All of them were really cool,” he added. “They were all really welcoming.”
His view of campus was a bit different this time.
“I saw the campus in April, but then it was kind of raining,” he said. “Just seeing it again this time was pretty cool.”
The Notre Dame coaches told Huffman they appreciated him making the trip.
“They just said they enjoyed having me on campus and that kind of stuff,” he explained.
Irish assistant Ryan Ayers is scheduled to see Huffman at an open gym on Tuesday.
“After that, we’ll see where it goes from there,” he said.
Huffman doesn’t have any other visits scheduled and his feelings about Notre Dame are clear.
“I love it.”
