There is no doubt that only giving up 17 points is worth celebrating for Clark Lea’s defense. Through three games they have only allowed four touchdowns. That’s a statistic that has them right there with the best defenses in the country.

The start for the defense was pretty terrific. In the first 17 plays, the Irish only allowed 33 yards (1.9 yards per play), which included three straight three and outs.
