2020 RB Jevyon Ducker Impressed With Notre Dame Atmosphere

Jevyon Ducker‍ was calling Notre Dame a “great school” before Saturday’s visit to South Bend and that trip certainly didn’t do anything to change the 2020 Nebraska running back’s mind.

“It was a great experience,” Ducker told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder from Bellevue, Neb., had a chance to see what Notre Dame is about, at least from an athletic side.

“We went through the whole tour of the training room and indoor facilities and then we went to the locker room,” he explained. “I think the best part was probably the gameday locker room, just seeing how everything was laid out. I saw the recruiting lounge.

“We got to walk down to the Play Like A Champion Today sign and stuff like that.”

He also had the chance to meet Irish running backs coach Autry Denson.

“I introduced myself to him and we exchanged contacts,” Ducker said. “He just seems like an open guy, just a nice dude.”

Ducker was impressed with the Irish’s 38-17 victory over Stanford.

“It was close in the beginning, but they kind of blew them out in the end and kept playing,” he said.

The Bellevue West High School standout, who has early offers from Purdue, South Dakota and South Dakota State, said Notre Dame’s offense is “definitely” one he thinks he could play in.

“I think I could for sure fit into their offense with the zone reads, not really specific hole, you just kind of read the linemen and cut off of them,” said Ducker.

He was impressed with the atmosphere on Saturday night as well.

“I thought it was probably one of the loudest stadiums I’ve been to besides Iowa,” Ducker said. “I like the atmosphere and the playing environment, how loud it is, the game environment in general.”

He’ll head to Minnesota for a trip next week and will probably visit South Dakota State the week after that, but doesn’t have anything else locked in.

He added that he would “definitely like to get back” to Notre Dame.
