Dekel Crowdus‍ got a sneak preview of what recruiting could be like for him as the 2021 Kentucky wide receiver joined his Frederick Douglass High School teammate Walker Parks on an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this past weekend.

“It was my first time visiting Notre Dame,” Crowdus said. “I really liked it.”

Crowdus hadn’t taken any other unofficial visits for games yet either and was impressed with the atmosphere, which Parks also noted.

“The fans like Walker said,” Crowdus said of what stood out. “They were into the game. It was really fun.”

The sophomore receiver was also impressed with the Irish’s performance during their 38-17 win over Stanford.

“The defense was doing good,” he said. “The offense was really tough too. I really liked it.”

Crowdus enjoyed the opportunity to check out the campus at Notre Dame.

“I loved campus,” he said. “Touchdown Jesus, I liked that.”

Parks is one of Notre Dame’s top targets in the Class of 2020, which allowed Crowdus the chance to meet with Brian Kelly during the Irish head coach’s pitch to Parks.

“He was really cool and funny,” Crowdus said of Kelly.

Crowdus is already receiving interest from schools like Cincinnati, Florida, Kentucky and some others.

He doesn’t have any other visits scheduled at the moment, but does expect to return to Notre Dame down the road.

“I will try to get back there.”
