Notre Dame has been asking Jordan Turner‍ to get down to South Bend for weeks and the 2020 Michigan linebacker will get the chance this weekend, when the Irish host Pittsburgh.

“I was going to go there earlier, but some family matters came up, so I couldn’t make it,” Turner told Irish Sports Daily. “We rescheduled for this week.

“They’ve been sending mail and messaging us saying they want us to come down, so we’re coming down.”

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder’s interest in the Irish goes beyond football.

“It has a good education,” Turner said of Notre Dame. “It’s one of the top schools in education and plus it has a nice team. I like their defense and feel I could fit with them.

“They’re aggressive. I like that.”

He’s looking forward to getting a better understanding of the program this weekend.

“I want to interact with more of the coaches on the staff and just see the atmosphere and the game,” he said.

The Farmington High School native has offers from schools like Boston College, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland, Central Michigan and Western Michigan among others.

“It’s nice, especially my first one from Central, it was nice to get my first one,” he said. “Then, other people offered to give me more opportunities to further my education and athletic career.”

He’s also receiving interest from Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue.

“They said they like how I play fast and how I tackle and how I’m hard-hitting,” he said of the schools recruiting him.

After Notre Dame, Turner plans on checking out Wisconsin and Purdue.

He has a few factors he’ll be looking at closely when it comes time to pick a school.

“One, if it has the major I want to major in,” said Turner, who plans to major in Marketing.

“Two, seeing if I like the coaches and they like me. Another one, if I see myself in that jersey and playing on that team.”
