It’s been a minute since we spoke about 2020 St. Xavier (Ohio) offensive lineman Paris Johnson, but we’re talking about him today as the Ohio State commit is expected to visit Notre Dame according to two sources.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pounder committed to the in-state Buckeyes in June and has remained firm in his pledge but after Urban Meyer’s retirement might have just opened the door enough for Notre Dame to get one more chance.

The four-star prospect last visited Notre Dame in March with his parents for Junior Day and he connected well with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.

“He’s a great person,” Johnson said following his March visit. “He was very passionate about going over some of the videos he was showing me. If he’s able to teach my mom about things going on the field while she’s sitting there, I know I’m going to get it down if he’s my coach.

“As a family, we feel comfortable with him. We think he’s a great coach.”

There is a long way to go in this one but it could be enough to pay attention to as 2020 recruiting kicks into full gear.
