Recruitment Rundown
Notre Dame hosted Hamilton in November of 2017 and it eventually led to an offer from the Irish a few months later. Following visits to Duke, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State, Hamilton committed to Notre Dame on April 24th, 2018. The Mendoza School of Business was major part in Hamilton’s decision as well as his relationship with Terry Joseph.
Head Coach Alan Chadwick
“His anticipation, his ball skills, his range as a safety are outstanding. He sees things and anticipates things very well. He’s a good tackler. He’s got the frame to be a very good player at the next level.”
ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama
Hamilton does such a great job reading the quarterback’s eyes and has the athleticism to react and recover in coverage. There’s a lot of versatility to his game where I could see him playing either safety spot and even as a nickel in certain situations. I wouldn’t put him in the same conversation as former Florida State star Derwin James as an athlete back when he was a prospect, but the overall skill sets are comparable. I can’t think of a higher compliment I can give him than that.
If he is able to pick up the defense, everything he showed as a senior indicates that he has the talent to contribute as a true freshman for Notre Dame.
