Saying Notre Dame fans were on edge before the Michigan game would be an understatement.

I could feel people ready to pounce on Jack Swarbrick for scheduling the game in the first place. Ditto for them and Brian Kelly if he came up short in a big spot like he did the previous year against Georgia and Miami.

The Irish needed a great start to ease some of the tension. Fortunately, they delivered.

They scored touchdowns on their first two drives and never looked back from there.
