On Wednesday night, Notre Dame defensive lineman Micah Dew-Treadway announced he will do a graduate transfer from the University of Notre Dame.

Irish Sports Daily spoke to the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder about his decision and the Bolingbrook (Ill.) native had no regrets coming to Notre Dame.

“Personal development and development as a player,” Dew-Treadway said of what he was thankful to get out his experience in South Bend. “I feel like I know the game really well. I take pride in knowing myself as a whole and the scheme as a whole.”

Dew-Treadway will graduate with a degree in Film, Television and Theatre. He will concentrate on television moving forward and he’s grateful to be leaving with a degree from Notre Dame.

“It means everything,” stated Dew-Treadway. “It means a ton to me but it means a lot to my mother and my dad, who has his degree. My mother put me in a position to have a degree.

“I have things I want to do in my life too. I had things in my life influence me to do television and that will always be big for me.”

Dew-Treadway is in the process of figuring out where he will transfer to for his final year but several schools have inquired about his services.

You can read Dew-Treadway’s goodbye note here:

“In my time at Notre Dame I have grown exponentially. Every time I stepped out of Stanford hall my goal was to take whatever punches came my way on the chin and counter back. I got to live the Dream with my best friends in the dorms and with teammates that continuously strive to not only make themselves better, but to make others around them better as well. I thank God for allowing me to experience my lowest lows at ND and I thank him for granting me my highest highs. To every student and teammate that I call family, you know who you are, I thank God for what you have brought into my life and I will never take that for granted. You all know how loyalty is everything to me. To the University, especially my professors and coaches thanks for taking a chance on ya boy. We all know that was hard at the time😂. I’ll still be the same kid from THE BROOK💯💯 with a pair of beats on his head, a song in his heart🎧, and a playlist sure to put a hole in someone’s apartment. Forever and always will I Love Thee.”
