Blake Fisher‍ isn’t just one of the top prospects in the entire Class of 2021, the Indiana offensive lineman is also “a super young man,” according to Avon High School head coach Mark Bless.

“He comes from a good family; very caring, very supportive and just good people,” Bless added. “Obviously, they’ve done a good job raising Blake. He’s a very polite, respectful young man who’s got a lot of upside.”

His growth has continued since arriving at Avon, according to his coach.

“I think this past year, from his freshman to sophomore year, he’s certainly matured into a fine young man,” said Bless. “He has a very good understanding of where he wants to be down the road. He knows he’s got to work to get where he wants to be.

“Certainly, the recruiting process has started so early for him, which has opened his eyes and helped him grow up.”

Fisher also grew as a player.

“He’s still a young guy,” said Bless. “He came into our offense at a good time. We had two players who started four years for us and another who started three years, so they kind of took him under their wings during the summer and throughout the season to help him develop and grow.

“His football knowledge still needs to be expanded. He grew an awful lot during the season in terms of film study, preparation for opponents. In those areas, I think all of us can continue to grow. In the weight room, he still needs to put on more muscle mass and hip flexibility. But he’s doing what he needs to do right now.”

The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder already has offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon and Florida State among many others.

“He moves really well, athletic for somebody as big as he is,” said Bless. “He’s got a good passion and drive for the game of football.”

Fisher enjoyed impressive trips to South Bend in November and December and his coach said the Irish are “absolutely” in the mix.

“I think Notre Dame is one of the schools toward the upper five of his list,” said Bless.

Fisher and his family plan on continuing to make visits and do their research.

“They want to investigate and see what’s out there for him and what’s going to be his best opportunity down the road. They’re very intelligent with investigating and seeing what they like. I know Notre Dame sits high in their impression.”
