The Irish lost over half of their production through the air after the 2017 season and were in desperate need of some players to take a step forward. They did that in a major way with the top three receivers in 2018 finishing with 111 more receptions, 1,325 more yards, and 10 more touchdowns than the previous season.

What Ian Book did to change the offense was a significant reason behind that, but the improvement from the three starters was noticeable in every way.
