Jaden Hardy‍ wanted to learn more about Notre Dame, which is why the 2020 Georgia defensive tackle was in South Bend on Saturday for the Irish’s Junior Day.

“It was good,” the 6-foot-3, 277-pound junior said. “I liked the campus.

“I saw the chapel and I saw all of their facilities and their field.”

While on campus, he had the chance to speak with Notre Dame defensive line coach Mike Elston.

“I think he’s a good coach,” the Benedictine Military standout said. “He knows what he’s talking about.

“He was telling me just to keep working hard.”

Hardy was very impressed with the academic statistics he saw during the trip.

“They have the highest graduation rate in all of the country, that was pretty cool,” he said. “I saw in 2012, they had the #1 team and the #1 graduation rate, so that was cool too.”

Hardy has offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Virginia already, but says he’ll “definitely” be considering Notre Dame moving forward.

“If I can, I’ll try to take an official there,” said Hardy, who added that he’d like to check out Notre Dame’s new indoor facility on his return visit.

He’s scheduled to take a trip to LSU on March 16th.

Hardy plans on signing during the early period and has an idea of what will be most important to him when he does.

“Opportunities after college and competing for a championship.”
