PFF Pre-Combine Top-50 Draft Board Has 3 Notre Dame Draft Prospects
The NFL Combine starts this week and several prospects have already arrived in Indianapolis.
Pro Football Focus released its Top 50 athletes for the 2019 NFL Draft and Notre Dame was well-represented.
Defensive lineman Jerry Tillery comes in at No. 11 on the list. The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder racked up 28 tackles, 8.5 tackle for loss and 7.0 sacks in 2018.
PFF on Tillery: “Tillery tied (Quinnen) Williams for the highest pass-rushing grade among interior d-linemen in college football. Tillery’s sack totals don’t tell the whole story as he was a dominant week in and week out.”
Cornerback Julian Love could be one of the players with the most to gain at the NFL Combine as a 4.4 40-yard dash could have him ascending up draft boards.
As the No. 40 player on PFF’s draft board, the stats speak for themselves as he made 176 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, five interceptions and set the Notre Dame record for pass breakups with 39.
PFF on Love: “Love’s 21 forced incompletions were the sixth most in college football last season and his 14 coverage stops ranked 10th.”
Linebacker Te’von Coney rounds out the Notre Dame guys as the South Florida native checks in at No. 46.
Coney was credited with 123 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and one interception in 2018 as he helped lead the Irish to the College Football Playoff.
PFF on Coney: “Coney had the fourth-highest coverage grade among eligible linebackers while also adding value as a pass-rusher with 20 pressures on just 76 pass-rushing snaps last year.”
