Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly spoke following the first practice of the spring. 

On the first day:
“The first day you’re hoping there’s a bit of a carry over with veteran presence in certain areas. When you get into some team time, you want to see a competitive environment with guys who know how to practice the right way. That was certainly the case.
