I’ve always been a big believer that if a player doesn’t make plays in practice, then he’s not going to produce during the game. I feel that way because I saw it myself when I was a player and coach and I’ve seen plenty of it doing this job covering Notre Dame.

Josh Adams might not have been hyped as an instant impact player when he arrived on campus, but that first fall camp he was making plays. When a kid breaks a 70-yard run and he’s outrunning starting defensive backs, then it’s typically a good indication that he is capable of doing those things on Saturdays.
