Terrance Williams remained patient with Notre Dame and it paid off as the 2020 forward from Washington, D.C., received a scholarship offer from Mike Brey and the Irish on Tuesday.

“Coach Brey came in to see me today and brought his assistant with him,” the 6-foot-6, 210-pounder junior said.

“They came to watch open gym.”

The Gonzaga College High School standout already had offers from schools like Virginia, Stanford, NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and South Carolina among others. He was happy to add Notre Dame to that list.

“It’s one I’ve been waiting for because we’ve been in contact since my freshman year, so now that I officially have the offer, it feels good,” he said.

Now that the Irish have turned their attention to Williams, he’s ready to turn his attention to them.

“I’m going to look to take a visit soon,” he said. “I don’t know when, but it’ll definitely be soon.”

He’s already taken trips to Stanford and Virginia and is looking forward to his potential South Bend visit.

“I’m supposed to talk to Coach Brey sometime next week about it,” he said.

“I just want to see everything, the facilities there, the campus, school-wise, get to know the guys a little bit, stuff like that.”

Williams already knows Irish point guard Prentiss Hubb, who is a Gonzaga graduate.

“He was up at school yesterday since they were on break and I spoke with him. He likes the way I play and wants me to come to Notre Dame.”
