2022 Texas Safety Camping At Notre Dame
2022 West Brook (Texas) safety Bryce Anderson received a camp invite from Notre Dame earlier this month and wasted little time setting up a visit.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder is excited to be in South Bend on June 16th for camp, but also to learn more about the Notre Dame program.
“I can’t wait to get up to Notre Dame,” Anderson told Irish Sports Daily. “I know they have a great academic program and the football team is good. It’s a major school.”
In March, Anderson earned his first offer from Southern and 10 days later, Baylor followed through with an offer. The offer from Baylor caught Anderson and his mother off guard, but clearly in a good way.
“It was good to get my first offer under my belt,” stated Anderson. “I don’t have to stress and it was a great feeling.
“I was surprised. I didn’t think I was going to get it, especially from Baylor. I was shocked. I couldn’t say anything. I think my mom cried. I’m pretty sure she did.”
In addition to Waco, Anderson has taken quite a few visits to the top programs in college football. However, a trip to Baton Rouge sticks out to Anderson.
“I’ve been to Alabama, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M,” said Anderson. “My favorite visit so far was probably LSU. It’s really DB U.
“The coaching staff really stuck out at LSU. I got to speak with Coach O. He is always fired up and he’s a hyped up person.”
When he gets to Notre Dame, Anderson will have the chance to impress the staff on the field and vice versa.
“I want to meet the coaching staff and see what it’s like at Notre Dame,” explained Anderson. “Notre Dame is one of my top schools.”
Anderson is confident in his ability on the field, but is looking forward to improving his zone coverage this offseason to take his game to the next level.
“My covering skills are great,” said Anderson. “I have good ball skills. I play free safety. I’m working on my tackling and I play a lot man coverage, so I’m working on zone coverage too.”
