2021 WR Deamikkio Nathan Camps At Notre Dame, Ready To See More

Deamikkio Nathan‍ says Notre Dame “is a special school,” which is why the 2021 Texas wide receiver finds himself in South Bend this weekend.

“They have a lot of history and they have a great program,” says Nathan. “I would like to be a part of that and that’s the reason why I came up.”

The South Grand Prairie High School standout participated in the Irish’s Sunday Night Lights Camp this past weekend.

“It went well,” he says. “I got to see how the coaches work. I like the receivers coach and I loved all of the coaches who were around. I got to see how they did drills and things like that.”

Del Alexander’s attitude and teaching ability really stuck out to Nathan.

“I liked that he was competitive coach,” Nathan recalls. “He wanted to teach us and walk us through the drills.”

Nathan, who will take a more in-depth tour of campus on Monday, is confident he put on a good performance during the event.

“I feel like I did good,” he says. “I needed to improve on…I feel like I didn’t need to improve on anything actually.

“I got good feedback from the coaches. They said I’m a good football player, they said I’m a great route-runner and that my footwork is great.”

He’s especially excited to check out the Architectural and Business programs at Notre Dame during Monday’s visit.

Nathan already has several offers from schools like Texas Tech, Kansas State and BYU among others.

“It’s a blessing,” he says. “It feels good to have that many offers at a young age.”

The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder says an offer from Notre Dame would “mean a lot.”

He plans to make stops at Texas and Texas A&M soon and has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“I’m looking for a school that has great tutors and that really takes education very seriously and that will help me graduate,” he says. “It’s not always about football.

“I love football. I know it’s the main reason I’m here, but I also know there will be a life after football and I want to be able to use my education to benefit me when it is all said and done.”
