2020 Notre Dame Commit Alexander Ehrensberger Off To Hot Start In 2019
2020 Notre Dame defensive end commit Alexander Ehrensberger is focused.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pounder has been a hot name on the recruiting trail since committing to Notre Dame in January, but Ehrensberger is in the middle of his football season back in Germany.
Irish fans will have to wait for stats, but things the three-star prospect is pleased with the start to the year.
“The season is going quite well,” Ehrensberger told Irish Sports Daily. “I don’t have all the stats yet.”
Ehrensberger’s work ethic is the first thing people around him talk about and it’s paid off as he’s noticed a change in his game this season.
“I’d say I’m improved a lot physically,” stated Ehrensberger. “That helps me in every game situation.”
While he might be playing in Germany, there are a lot of similarities to football in the U.S., including feeling some added pressure as a future Division-I athlete.
“I think some added pressure is normal when you’re committed to such an elite and prestigious program,” Ehrensberger explained. “Everyone was and still is hyped about my commitment.”
Despite the challenge of distance, Ehrensberger has developed relationships with the 2020 recruiting class and is excited to get around his future teammates.
“I’ve got to know all the 2020 commits through Social Media,” said Ehrensberger. “It seems like an amazing group of young men and I can’t wait to meet them in person.”
Ehrensberger is also excited to be part of one of the nation’s top defensive line classes as Jordan Botelho, Aidan Keanaaina and Rylie Mills will join him in South Bend.
“I am super excited about being a part of this big-time defensive line class,” said Ehrensberger. “I think we have a great future ahead.”
