2022 QB Brady Allen Enjoys Busy Weekend In The Hoosier State
2022 Gibson Southern (Ind.) Brady Allen had a busy weekend, but it didn’t stop him from competing at Irish Invasion on Sunday.
The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder played in eight 7-on-7 games on Saturday and then got an early start on Sunday morning as he participated at Notre Dame’s QB Academy before staying to throw at Irish Invasion.
“It was a long day, Allen told Irish Sports Daily. “I had 7-on-7 at IU with my high school team on Saturday. The morning session was good and it helped me get going. I felt I did really well.”
The QB Academy provided a chance for Allen to work with Tommy Rees and get some valuable instruction.
“Coach Rees was going around everywhere looking and working to everyone,” said Allen. “He was in and out with different groups. I got to work with him a little bit.
“It’s great. I liked a lot of the stuff he does and it’s really good. It helps a lot.”
Allen is on the watch list for Notre Dame as the Irish turn focus to 2022. Cincinnati, Indiana, Purdue and Virginia Tech have already offered and Allen feels like he’s only getting better.
“I’ve come a long way from last year to this year,” explained Allen. “I feel like I did really well and I was at the top of my game. I felt like I was one of the best there and showed out. There was a lot of good competition there too.”
Notre Dame didn’t offer this weekend, but Rees made sure to take time out for Allen at the end of camp to explain the process.
“I was one of the last guys he spoke to and he let us know his game plan for the 2022 quarterbacks,” Allen said. “He explained what he was looking for and it helps to know that stuff heading into this process.”
The conversation meant a lot to Allen as he knows it’s very early in his process and will camp at Kentucky, Ohio State and Penn State in the next few weeks.
But an offer from Notre Dame would be a major one for Allen.
“It’s all about finding the right fit and seeing what every place has to offer,” Allen explained. “I’m going to do my best to find the right fit.
“I get a better feel after every place I visit. I got a better feel for Notre Dame on Sunday and it would mean a lot to get an offer. It’d be very special.”
Allen also hopes to find time this fall to make it back to South Bend to see the Irish in action.
“I want to get back to Notre Dame for a game this fall and I hope to be able to do that.”
