After checking out Notre Dame for the spring game back in April, Terian Williams‍ was excited to work out in front of the staff at Irish Invasion on Sunday and the 2022 Georgia athlete left feeling good.

“Everything was good,” Williams told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I got to meet all of the coaches and compete with all of the guys.”

Williams spent most of his time with defensive backs coaches Todd Lyght and Terry Joseph.

“Coach Lyght talked about how he knows I play quarterback and DB and how they’re recruiting me as a DB,” he said. “He likes DBs who play quarterback also because he likes the versatility and at quarterback, you know different things about the QBs and receivers.”

His overall impressions of both were positive.

“They’re very humble people,” said Williams. “I really liked talking to Coach Lyght and Coach Joseph. I can tell that they can actually get you to the next level.”

The Parkview High School standout, who has offers from Kentucky and Tennessee among others, was pleased with his performance.

“I think I performed well against the 2020 and 2021 guys,” he said. “I did good in the individual drills. My lower back started irritating me from the previous, but I still went out and competed.

“Coach Lyght was telling me he liked my hand placement and how patient I was at the line.”

Having visited a couple months earlier, Williams didn’t need to do much touring.

“I didn’t see the indoor facility the first time I came up, so I did see that,” he said. “But aside from that, I saw basically everything I did before.”

Notre Dame said it would be keeping its eye on Williams through the fall.

“I’ve got to keep doing what I do,” he said. “Coach Lyght said he wants to see my early film from the upcoming season. I’ll also probably get up here for a game in the fall.”

Williams has camps coming up at Florida, Florida State and Louisville.
