Damon Ollison II‍ wasn’t able to make it to a camp at Notre Dame this summer, but the 2021 Ohio linebacker was able to make it to campus for an unofficial visit this past Friday.

“It went real good,” the 6-foot, 205-pounder said. “I liked it up there. It’s a nice environment, real nice campus and beautiful, especially on a sunny day.

“I got to see everything. I got to meet the advisors, met the defensive coordinator, Clark Lea. I got to see the locker room, I got to see everything. It was beautiful.”

Ollison said the feedback he got from the Irish staff was positive.

“They spoke highly of me,” the Akron native said. “They said they like how I play; aggressive, downhill, fast and all of that. I’m not sure what they plan on doing in the future, but hopefully offering me.”

“They want to keep in touch.”

The Archbishop Hoban High School standout already has a handful of Power-Five offers and would love to add the Irish to that list.

“It would mean a lot, especially from a Catholic college with me coming from a Catholic high school,” he said.

“I loved the school. It really reminds me of my high school. The academic advisor preached to challenge myself academically. That really stuck out to me.”

After visiting Notre Dame, Ollison headed to Wisconsin, where he was offered a scholarship by the Badgers.

“I loved it up there too,” he said. “It’s a nice, beautiful place surrounded by lakes. I really liked it up there. That was nice.”

Following the dead period, Ollison, who also has offers from Michigan, Arkansas and Rutgers, plans on making it down to check out the Razorbacks.

“I’m planning on going to Arkansas July 26th,” he said.

He would also like to get back to South Bend for a game in the fall.
