Cormac Ryan Transferring To Notre Dame

June 28, 2019

Notre Dame basketball got some big news on Friday evening as transfer Cormac Ryan let Mike Brey know he would be coming to South Bend, according to a source within the Irish basketball program.

The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals as a freshman at Stanford. Ryan started 17 games while playing in 24 for the Cardinal.

Ryan will sit in 2019-2020 and will not seek a waiver to play this season.

As a recruit, Ryan was ranked as a four-star prospect by several services.

National Rankings
Scout: No. 56
ESPN: No. 63
247: No. 64
Rivals: No. 77

Ryan averaged 23.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.0 steals as a senior at Milton Academy (Mass.), which is also the alma mater of Notre Dame’s all-time leading scorer (football) Justin Yoon.

Notre Dame needed a positive boost of energy and Ryan’s commitment is just that as the Irish didn’t sign a 2019 prospect.
