2021 WR Deamikkio Nathan Enjoys First Notre Dame Visit, Plans Second
Deamikkio Nathan showed a serious amount of interest in Notre Dame when the 2021 Texas wide receiver made the trip up to South Bend to participate in the Irish’s Sunday Night Lights camp last month.
“It went good,” Nathan told Irish Sports Daily. “I got to see how the coaches are. I got to see the atmosphere and how they deal with players.
“I loved the coaches. They give you a lot of knowledge and I liked them.”
The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder from South Grand Prairie High School spent a great deal of time with Irish receivers coach Del Alexander and was impressed with the atmosphere in South Bend.
“The atmosphere was great,” he said. “There’s a lot of football history out there. I loved it.”
And he already has plans to return.
“I’m going back in October for a game against USC,” Nathan said. “I will be looking to see how the coaches deal with the game, I’ll be looking to see how they run their offense.
As far as a potential offer, Nathan could get a better idea when he gets back.
“They said that they’re looking to see how I do the first games before I come back for the USC game,” he said.
He isn’t sure what other schools he will visit this fall, but already has offers from schools like Texas Tech, Kansas State, BYU and UCF among others.
He made a few other trips before the dead period, but two stuck out about the rest.
“I went to Texas A&M and Texas,” said Nathan. “I can’t remember the others. Those were the main two. I loved those trips also. They were good camps and I did my thing at the camps.”
Nathan, who wants to major in Architecture, said academics, atmosphere and relationships will be key to his ultimate decision.
“If it’s a family and we all come together as one and play together as a team,” he said.
Nathan spoke with Irish Sports Daily just prior to Circuit Jam, a media day event for his 7-on-7 and training group, True Buzz Athletics.
“I got a lot out of True Buzz,” Nathan said. “I love True Buzz. It was all like family and they push you hard when you work out with them, so I got a lot out of True Buzz.”
