INTEL | Inside Cane Berrong's Visit To UGA
Some may have been a little nervous when 2021 Hart County (Ga.) tight end Cane Berrong set a visit to Athens this past weekend, but there was clear communication between the Notre Dame commit and offensive coordinator Chip Long before the visit was set. I'm not sure it'll be the last visit to a big game for Berrong. It's been communicated to Notre Dame that the family wants to go to a few more big games as his father and younger brother want to see and experience different atmospheres. I can't blame them as it's not every day you get free tickets and access to top programs. Berrong seems very set in his commitment, so I'm not sure it's going to matter at the end of the day.Berrong and his family took the safe and respectful route and wore Hart County gear to the game as he was a guest of Georgia, but also a Notre Dame commit. I can tell you the play and use of Cole Kmet was a major positive for Berrong to see and see live. It's always one thing to be told how a program plans to use you, but seeing it in person is a different experience. 9 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown against Georgia is great performance it wasn't lost on Berrong. I can also say Berrong wasn't surprised Notre Dame competed toe-to-toe with the No. 3 program in the country. In fact, Berrong sat next to two Georgia commits during the game and was making sure they knew Notre Dame was better than everyone had stated before the game. If you weren't sold on Berrong's commitment, I can also tell you Berrong had his recruiting hat on and was recruiting for Notre Dame in Athens. One of the players he spoke to the most was 2021 Athens Academy (Ga.) WR Deion Colzie, who will be back in South Bend for the USC game. Not sure there is much to read into other than Berrong is enjoying the process and continuing to make sure everyone in Georgia knows he's committed to Notre Dame.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
