The Latest | 2023 OL Elijah Paige
In talking with multiple sources across the country, It seems like 2023 Notre Dame offensive line commit Elijah Paige could change his commitment status with the Irish sooner than later. Paige committed to Notre Dame shortly after his visit in June and canceled his remaining visits. USC seems to be the program to watch if he backs off his commitment from Notre Dame as he took an official visit there in May. In addition to Paige, Notre Dame currently holds commitments from Sullivan Absher, Sam Pendleton, Charles Jagusah and Joe Otting, so if he does end up leaving the class, the Irish offensive line haul will remain a strong one in talent and numbers. Some Notes On The Commits
I reached out to multiple commits and those around them in the wake of yesterday's embrrassing loss.I'll say this there isn't a lot of blind, sticking their heads in the sand, everything will be fine and there's nothing to worry about amongst that group. And that's a good thing, in my opinion. When there is a lack of criticism in an obvious situation where critisicm is deserved, that's when I'd be really concerned because then you have to question how honest people are being. Instead, I know some of the commits even had a hard time watching the entire game on TV and recruits and those close to them are wondering what the heck is going on, just like everybody else. But, at this point, based on the conversations I've had, I think there are more questions than alarm bells going off. I don't expect a swatch of decommits based on this one game - or nore depending on how you're measuring the situation. Some have come out and strongly expressed their commitment to the program with one person telling me "committed means committed. There's no need for reassurance."Another told me their recruitment was done the moment there was a commitment and that is final.Others acknowledged it was "not a good game at all" but that they were still "all good...all good."The coaching staff wasn't waiting to address it either. They were touching base with recruits last night, immediately after the game."Just reassuring that the class that's coming in of '23 is going to be the class that wins a national championship."And it's clear that message is being received by a good chunk of the class.2023 OL commit Charles Jagusah told us, "It's a tough loss and everyone on the team knows what the standard is but they'll bounce back."2023 CB commit Christian Gray told ISD, "Man, all I can say is God got us, and that game gave us fire, and more determination. The future is bright for us."100,000,000 percent locked in man.☘️☘️💯— Christian Gray (@8_franchise) September 10, 2022 Makes ✌️ of us ☘️ #GoIrish https://t.co/8c6HmmIHln— Drayk Bowen (@DraykBowen) September 10, 2022 go Irish ☘️… pic.twitter.com/M3bMnWaUZV— Rico Flores Jr🕴🏽 (@lil_reek_) September 10, 2022 And that’s on my soul. https://t.co/x9uzi7Y5dn— Braylon James (@braylon_james14) September 11, 2022 God, Country, and NOTRE DAME!! “ When things get hard don’t run away, run through IT!” - a wise man— Sam Pendleton (@SamPendleton7) September 11, 2022 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds | James 1:2 Head up and stay focused ☘️— Sullivan Absher (@AbsherSullivan) September 11, 2022

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
