Quick Note on 2024 DE Elijah Rushing
Caught up briefly with a source after Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington dropped by Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) to check on 2024 defensive end Elijah Rushing. Washington can't really speak to the five-star per NCAA rules, but I'm told Rushing was excited to have Notre Dame in building and he's looking forward to getting back to South Bend. Much like 2024 safety Marquis Gallegos, Rushing hasn't been to Notre Dame in about a year, so getting back on campus could remind him why he had the Irish high on his list coming out of last summer. Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and Harry Hiestand will continue their travels through the Carolinas on Tuesday. The duo are expected at Oceanside Collegiate Academy (S.C.) to check on 2023 offensive lineman Monroe Freeling. Notre Dame has maintained a presence there this spring after Freeling made the trip to South Bend for the spring game. The Irish will also check on 2024 Dillon (S.C.) offensive lineman Josiah Thompson for the second straight week. Receivers coach Chansi Stuckey will remain in LA, while running backs coach Deland McCullough is expected to be in Houston for the second straight day. Tight ends coach Gerard Parker will remain in North Carolina to visit schools. We're told defensive coordinator Al Golden will be back in Indiana on Tuesday to check on 2023 linebacker commit Drayk Bowen. It's a bit of a weird stop as Golden was at Andrean on Friday and Bowen is more than locked in with Notre Dame. Defensive line coach Al Washington will be in Arizona to stop by Salpointe Catholic on Tuesday, which is the home of 2024 defensive end Elijah Rushing. The four-star prospect was at Notre Dame this spring and the Irish should be taken as a serious contender here. Cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens is also expected in Arizona, while Chris O'Leary will spend the day in Dallas. Special Teams coordinator Brian Mason is expected to remain in California.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”
