The Latest | 2027 OL Albert Simien
2027 Sam Houston (La.) offensive lineman Albert Simien has all the attention on him as the month of May comes to a close. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder has been a top priority for Notre Dame for months, but things cooled off slightly when the Irish held a silent commitment from 2027 offensive lineman Layton Von Brandt - until he decided to head to Auburn earlier this week. Offensive line coach Joe Rudolph wasted little time getting to Louisiana as he was there on Tuesday to see Simien, the day after von Brady pledged to play on The Plains. I'm told the Irish are in a good spot with Simien coming out of Rudolph's visit, but it's still going to be a battle to get him out of SEC country as Texas A&M, LSU and Ole Miss are still coming hard with Nebraska trying to get in the race. In talking to a few sources, I think von Brant was very intrigued by Notre Dame, but I'm not sure he ever loved the place. I get the feeling there is a little more comfort on Notre Dame's side if Simien were to pledge to the Irish, as they know it would come from his love for the school, as it's a tough decision to leave the South and the genuine nature of the composite five-star prospect. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19782673/6949d84fd44564ced13147fcNotre Dame Fighting Irish Under Armour Golf Leprechaun Tech Stretch T-Shirt

The Latest | 2027 OL Layon von Brandt
2027 offensive lineman Layton Von Brandt has had Notre Dame in the lead for months and that includes this week. At the moment, I think momentum has shifted toward the Auburn Tigers as he will announce his commitment on Monday morning. I believe Auburn is also targeting Edge von Brandt, who is the older brother of Layton and holds an offer from Maine and was in the 2026 recruiting class. If von Brandt chooses Auburn on Monday, I expect Joe Rudolph to be in The Boot this week to see 2027 Sam Houston (La.) offensive lineman Albert Simien.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”
