The Latest | Amarri Irvin
2027 Notre Dame linebacker commit Amarri Irvin might not be locked in with Notre Dame after all. The IMG Academy standout flirted with a visit to Missouri all spring, but ended up not going. Over the weekend, a source confirmed that Irvin took an official visit to Michigan State, which isn't necessarily surprising given his ties to the school. Irvin's father, Sedrick, was a two-time All-Conference selection in East Lansing, and perhaps the most relevant connection is Michigan State linebackers coach Max Bullough. Bullough recruited and landed Irvin while he was the linebackers coach at Notre Dame, so there has been a strong relationship between the two. In the past, Notre Dame has had a pretty strict policy on commits taking official visits, but that's also been relaxed for certain players. Does Irvin fall into that category where Notre Dame will let him play some games? We'll see. That said, Notre Dame hasn't recruited linebacker overly well this cycle despite having an opportunity to close in an epic way with Kaden Henderson and Toa Satele. As mentioned earlier, If you count Irvin, Nore Dame ideally wants to take one more linebacker, but if Henderson and Satele want to both come, I believe they'd take both because they are that good. If Irvin left the class, I'm not sure it'd be a huge loss outside of the fact that the linebacker class in 2027 isn't very deep, and most of the top of the board guys have committed already, which would be the concern if Irvin left and the Irish didn't get Henderson and Satele. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
