2021 WR Christian Lewis Excited To Check Out Notre Dame
Christian Lewis and his mother have heard enough from Notre Dame so far to know they want to learn more, which is why the 2021 Alabama wide receiver will be in South Bend for the Irish’s game against Virginia Tech on Nov. 2nd.
“They’ve been sending mail to my house,” the 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior says. “My mom said she decided to sign me up for a visit because she said she could see playing there and she wouldn’t mind me going there.
“I would like to see how the atmosphere is during the game, how the community is and how the fans react to the players.”
Lewis said Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Aaryn Kearney has also been sending him messages via Twitter.
“They said when I get there, I’ll be meeting with all of the offensive coaches,” says Lewis.
The Pleasant Grove High School standout has double-digit offers from schools like Kentucky, Iowa and Nebraska among others.
“It feels good because last season I was hurt in the fourth game,” he says. “Going into my season, I had zero offers and this past spring from playing 7-on-7 with Cam Newton, it just blew up from there.”
His mother asked him to make a list of a dozen schools to look closely at and Notre Dame made the list.
“I’ve seen the loyalty to the coaches there,” he says. “I like the graduation rate of the school and I could see myself helping the team.”
He’s already taken unofficial visits to Alabama and Kentucky this fall.
“Alabama was fun, but they weren’t really playing anybody, so it wasn’t really as packed as it could have been,” he says. “But for Kentucky, I went when they played Florida and it was packed out. It was crazy. I like the love that I get from the coaches. I like the atmosphere of the game and I just like it.”
Academics will play a big role in his ultimate decision.
“Mainly, it’s going to be if the school offers what I want to major in and how good they are at doing it,” says Lewis, who wants to study Sports Medicine.
