Holloman Has Irish In Play Still

Jeremiah Holloman had his eye on last week’s Notre Dame-Miami game because the Irish and Hurricanes are two schools high on the 2017 Georgia wide receiver’s list. This week, he’ll have the chance to check out Miami up close when he takes an official visit.

Holloman, who took an official visit to Notre Dame back in September, has an official planned to Nebraska next week, but isn’t sure where he could go for his final two officials.

He’s said many times that he may not take an official to Georgia, but not to read too much into it.

“That doesn’t mean too much,” he said.

In fact, Holloman has already seen the in-state Bulldogs play a couple of times this fall, including the heartbreaking loss to Tennessee.

“It was crazy, especially knowing that I’m being heavily recruited by both teams,” he said.

Other schools will certainly get the chance to make their pitch, but Notre Dame isn’t giving up either.

“Yeah, I’m still considering them,” he said firmly, adding that he continues to speak with Irish assistant coach Scott Booker on a regular basis.

“We were just talking about how even with what’s going on with the season, he was saying they’re just a few pieces away from having a complete program,” Holloman said of Booker.

“They feel like they can really close out the 2017 class and have what they’re looking for.”

That’s a pitch that seems to be making an impact with the Newton High School standout.

“Of course that’s big, knowing they see that in me, a game-changing type player in me, so that’s big,” he said.

Notre Dame has been on Holloman’s short list for a while and that hasn’t changed.

“The tradition and knowing what all of the coaches are capable of doing for me and seeing the recent success they’ve had with receivers and knowing what I’ve been able to accomplish there,” he said of his interest in the Irish.

Holloman, who doesn’t have a definitive timeline for a commitment, plans on keeping Notre Dame in play as he’s working toward a decision and looking at what the Irish can offer him versus his other options.

“I just weigh them on the scale against all of the other schools.”
