2021 WR Christian Lewis Enjoys Fresh Feel At Notre Dame
Christian Lewis had this weekend’s visit to Notre Dame planned for quite some time and the 2021 Alabama wide receiver was not disappointed.
“It went good,” the 6-foot-3, 183-pounder said afterward. “I enjoyed it.
“We saw the weight room, the meeting room. We basically toured where the football players are and we went into the study hall and all of that.”
Lewis was impressed with the facilities.
“It was nice,” he said. “I was surprised with how clean and well-kept their stuff was and everything they had was new.”
He was also struck by the atmosphere and the game inside Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, when the Irish edged Virginia Tech 21-20 in the final minute.
“The fans were into it,” said Lewis. “It was sold out.
“It was a good game to me. I feel like they played all out. They fought to the end and it paid off for them.”
The Pleasant Grove High School standout already has offers from Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Kentucky and Nebraska. He had a brief conversation with Irish wide receivers coach Del Alexander.
“I liked him,” Lewis said of Alexander. “He really wasn’t talking about football. He was talking about life and how his main focus is on his players graduating. He knows that players can play on the field, it’s about what they do in life and how they do in school and stuff like that.”
He’s planning to be on the road in the coming weeks.
“Next week, I’m going to the Alabama-LSU game and then I’ll be at either Nebraska-Wisconsin or Ole Miss-LSU,” said Lewis.
He’d welcome the chance to return to South Bend in the future.
“I definitely want to try to get back there because I enjoyed it,” he said. “It was fun.
“I’d like to talk more with the coach one-on-one.”
