Jacob Sexton‍ was impressed with just about everything he saw at Notre Dame on Saturday, but the 2022 Oklahoma offensive lineman seemed most struck by the people on the campus in South Bend.

“It was a lot of fun,” Sexton told Irish Sports Daily. “They were really nice. It’s a great place.

“They showed us all of the facilities. We got to see meeting rooms, go on the field. We had great seats. We got to eat in the indoor practice place. They showed us around there. It was pretty fun. (The facilities) were really nice. Really well-kept and clean. They were nice.”

The Deer Creek High School standout has early offers from schools like Oklahoma State, Kansas and Georgia Tech and was struck by the crowd inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“Everybody was super excited,” he said. “That was probably one of the best atmospheres that we’ve been in this year.”

He added Notre Dame “played really well” during the 40-7 over Boston College and kept his eye on Irish offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg.

“He had a bunch of good plays and every now and then a bad play, but everyone has a bad play,” Sexton said of Eichenberg.

Sexton also had the opportunity to speak with Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.

“He was saying thank you for coming out and asked if we enjoyed the game,” he recalled. “He talked to us about the game.

“He was really nice and happy. He never seemed like he was in a bad mood or anything like that. He was always happy and had a smile on his face.”

Sexton doesn’t have any more visits planned, but does think he’d return to South Bend if given the chance and plans to keep up with the Irish in the meantime.

“I’m just going to keep building relationships with the coaches and everybody on staff and keep up with them. Maybe I get an offer or something.”
