Brett Norfleet‍ got a good look at Notre Dame during an unofficial visit to South Bend this past weekend and the 2023 defensive end/tight end from Missouri was impressed with what he saw.

“It was good,” the 6-foot-7, 220-pounder said. “I really enjoyed everything.

“They took us around campus. We got to see the locker room, got to go on the field, got to see the Play Like A Champion Today sign, thought that was pretty cool.”

Norfleet and the other visiting prospects got a chance to see both the Gug and the new indoor facility.

“We saw the recovery room, the conference room, we got to see all of that,” the Francis Howell High School standout explained. “It was really nice.”

He called the game atmosphere “unbelievable.”

“Their fight song and how loud it is in there just gives you the chills,” he continued.

Norfleet, who has an early offer from Missouri, was impressed with the Irish’s performance in their blowout win over Boston College.

“They played good,” he said. “The score was 40-7 and I think by the third quarter, they had all of the seniors in, which was important on their Senior Night.”

He had the chance to speak to some of the staff members during the trip.

“They talked about what guys do to prepare for the game and stuff like that,” Norfleet recalled.

He doesn’t have any plans for any more visits set yet, but would like to return to South Bend at some point.

“I think I’d come back to visit again and get to know more people, get to go to another game and experience everything again.”
