Darius Hale‍ had some expectations coming into his first visit to Notre Dame last weekend and the 2021 Texas running back said they were met and then some.

“It was very nice,” the 5-foot-11, 208-pounder said afterward.

“I got to see the locker room, I got to meet some of the running backs. I got to talk to the running backs coach. I got to see the facilities, it was real nice.”

The Pearland High School standout was impressed with the campus and facilities.

“They were better than I expected,” Hale said. “I looked at pictures, but in person, they were way better.”

The Pearland, Texas native also enjoyed everything in and around Notre Dame Stadium for the Irish’s home finale against Boston College.

“I really liked the atmosphere,” he said. “I really thought it was going to be a close game, but they came out there and played. They played real good.”

Hale was impressed with Notre Dame’s offense in its 40-7 rout of the Eagles.

“I like it because they run a lot of RPOs and that’s what we run in high school, so I’m real familiar with it,” he said.

Hale’s offer sheet already includes Baylor and Houston among others.

He had the chance to speak with Lance Taylor during the visit and said the Irish running backs coach had “nothing but good things” to say.

“He’s going to come down and see me in January,” Hale continued. “He wants to see me run track. He likes my size and speed already.”

Hale expects to be at LSU this weekend for the Tigers’ regular season finale with Texas A&M.
