If I had told you back in August that Notre Dame would not have Daelin Hayes and Julian Okwara for a combined 13 games this season, it would have been fair to assume that the defensive end position would be a disappointment.

Not many programs would be able to manage losing two of their best pass rushers and not see a significant drop off. But they lost those two at different points of the season and didn’t skip a beat when either were gone.
