Redshirts Rising

Notre Dame had 19 freshmen take a redshirt in 2018. They had 19 do so last season as well.

It’s a sign that the program is in a good place with the roster when they haven’t had to force young players to play before they were ready. And last season especially had some good players that would have played on most Notre Dame teams in the last decade.

The roster Brian Kelly and his staff have built up has allowed them to not rush anyone onto the field.
