It’s still very early in the recruiting process for Jayden Wayne‍, but the 2023 Washington athlete is ready to get started.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder already has offers from Oregon and Georgetown.

“It feels good,” says Wayne. “It makes me know that I’ve got to keep working to get more.”

He’ll get to work and get to showcase that work this summer, when he plans to travel to South Bend to participate in one of Notre Dame’s camps.

“They just sent the camp dates to me on Twitter,” says Wayne, who isn’t sure which camp he’ll attend yet.

The Lincoln High School standout doesn’t know much about Notre Dame yet, but said “it felt good” to hear from the Irish.

He’s looking forward to the camp setting.

“I think I can show them that I can play d-end, my athletic ability, my speed, my length,” Wayne says.

He’s also excited about getting the chance to learn more about Notre Dame.

“I want to look around the school, locker room, meet the coaches and stuff,” he said.

In addition to the offers he already has, Wayne is receiving early interest from Washington, Cal, Tennessee and Florida among others.

“I’ve been out to Oregon,” he said. “It was good. I met all of the coaches and stuff.

“This spring I’m going to get to Tennessee and Florida.”

Even though it’s early, Wayne knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“I want to be treated like a family, being able to play and the atmosphere.”
