It's graduation weekend at Notre Dame and while the University Commencement Ceremony will be online instead of on-campus, the football program is making sure its graduates are recognized.

Notre Dame has started to release videos for each graduate and as their position coach writes a letter to them.

Yes, some will be back in 2020, but it doesn't change the fact they are getting recognized for likely the biggest accomplishment of their life.

Fighting Irish receivers coach Del Alexander wrote a letter to receiver Javon McKinley to recognize his accomplishments.

Dear Javon,

This is Coach Del. South Bend is a long way from Corona, California, but when you decided to come to Notre Dame when you set your sights on that degree, no distance was going to stop you from reaching that goal.

I'm so proud of the young man you've become and I'll never forget how you worked to develop into the graduate you are today.

You now own your first-class degree from Notre Dame. Congratulations.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder will likely be back on the Notre Dame roster in 2020 for his fifth and final year.

McKinley has played in 19 games over his career and showed flashes during the 2019 season as it was a year of firsts for the California native.

In 2019, McKinley made 11 receptions for 268 yards and four touchdowns. McKinley caught five balls for 104 yards and a touchdown against Bowling Green and then had two catches for two scores and 85 yards against New Mexico.

McKinley will graduate from the Mendoza College of Business with a major in Marketing and a minor in Chinese.

The former four-star prospect chose Notre Dame over Washington and Oregon at the 2016 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
