It’s been a long road for Malik Zaire, but it looks as if his time at Notre Dame will come to an end sooner than later according to multiple sources.
Irish Sports Daily has confirmed an earlier report that the senior quarterback does intend on using the grad-transfer rule and will look to head to a new program for his fifth-year of eligibility.
Florida, Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Wisconsin will be teams Zaire will be looking into and likely visiting in the near future, according to a source close with the Ohio native.
It’s worth noting out of those four schools, Notre Dame will travel to East Lansing on September 23rd to play Michigan State next fall.
The former four-star quarterback earned the starting quarterback role in 2015, but then suffered a bone-chilling ankle break in the second game of the season against Virginia.
Zaire will wrap up his Notre Dame career with 816 passing yards and six touchdowns, but also added another 324 yards and two scores on the ground.
