Ian Book Post-Practice Quotes

August 15, 2020

Notre Dame football put on shells for the first time in 2020 and quarterback Ian Book spoke to a member of the Fighting Irish media team following Friday's practice.

On the chemistry of the offense:
"It's going great. One, it feels really good to be out here. Two, to get out here and work on chemistry. We've been doing it all summer and finally come out here - we've had two practices, put on some pads and do it officially is great.

"We're just excited to play, but we've got some new guys at receiver and as a quarterback, there is nothing better than putting in that work and working on chemistry."

On on offensive coordinator Tommy Rees:
"It's a really close group. It's awesome. Coach Rees has done a great job. A lot of good personalities in the QB room. We all get along. We all hang out. We've got some seniors and we've got some young guys who have just done an unbelievable job of embracing our culture and coming in here ready to work."

On offseason preparations:
"Just getting into the playbook even more. Personally, just understanding more defensive recognition and then like we said, working on chemistry with some younger guys coming up."
