The Skinny 
Notre Dame. Hawaii linebacker from Punahou. Seems like a natural match, right? Manti Te’o, Marist Liufau and Kahanu Kia have all made the decision to head to South Bend from the Punahou program and Notre Dame will have a great shot to land Tafiti. The Irish program means a lot to the four-star prospect and it won’t hurt Kia will be there as they are teammates now. 

Area recruiter Brian Polian has done a masterful job on Oahu and there isn’t any reason to think he can’t add Hawaii’s top player in 2022. 

Timetable 
Tafiti hasn’t been to Notre Dame yet and I wouldn’t expect this recruitment to be over soon. In the past, Hawaii kids have decided later in the process as it’s a little tougher to squeeze visits in and combined with the pandemic and dead period, it might be a while before Tafiti can get to campus. Notre Dame is in a great spot and will need to fight off the normal crew of West Coast programs. 

Tafiti didn’t get a season this year, but did attend a camp in Utah in the fall.
