Chandavian Bradley‍ didn’t know what was coming and the 2023 Missouri defensive end’s head coach at Platte County High School didn’t let on.

“My coach kept it a secret most of the day,” the 6-foot-5, 205-pound sophomore says. “The Notre Dame coach had been keeping in touch with him for a minute now, and they were talking. Then he told me after school to call the coach.”

So, Bradley did just that.

“They said they’d seen a lot of my film,” Bradley remembers. “They like my film and they had been talking to Coach trying to figure out what type of person I am, the type of leader I am. They talked to him about all that type of stuff. And they really liked what they heard.”

And then, Bradley was told he was being offered a scholarship to Notre Dame.

“I was not able to say anything,” Bradley looks back. “The fact that it was Notre Dame. Historically, the best football college ever in the country.

“I'm a big Steelers fan and Stephon Tuitt went to Notre Dame. So, knowing that I could go to a school that one of my favorite players ever went to, it really just did it for me.”

Bradley had early offers from Iowa State and Kansas State. Since picking up his offer from Notre Dame, he’s added Nebraska, Michigan State and Indiana to the list.

He plans to keep in touch with the Irish as much as possible.

“I'm only a sophomore now, so I still have a lot of time before everything's back in place,” he says.

Bradley is also interested to see what kind of college interest he’ll get as a basketball prospect and says he doesn’t have a preference between the sports.

“Right now, I don’t at all,” he says. “I probably won't know for a minute.”

He does know what he’s looking for in a college.

“Really, it's all about the people,” he says. “If there's just good people and if they're good to be around.”

His parents will also play a major role.

“That's going to play a huge part in it, how my parents feel,” he says. “The schooling, education. I know Notre Dame has a really good education system.”

Bradley plans on studying Law or Human Services with the goal of helping foster children.

“Anything where I can help people.”
