2022 WR Joseph Griffin Jr. Talks Notre Dame Offer & More
Joseph Griffin settled on Boston College last fall, announcing his verbal commitment to the Eagles back in October.
But that hasn’t stopped major college programs from pursuing the 2022 wide receiver from Central High School in Springfield, Mass.
Notre Dame and Arizona are among the latest schools to offer the 6-foot-4, 195-pounder. Del Alexander and the Irish sent out the offer on April 20th.
“The wide receivers coach at Notre Dame had been talking to me and texting with me,” Griffin said of Alexander. “One day, we were on the Zoom and he offered me during the Zoom call.
“I was excited.”
Griffin acknowledges that he hasn’t done a deep dive into researching Notre Dame just yet, but his initial impressions of Alexander are positive.
“He's straight up,” said Griffin. “I like that he's straight up with me...He stays in touch with me and asks what I did today.
“I just like that he's straight up with me. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. He tells me exactly how it's going to be, so it's not like a surprise if anything were to ever happen.”
Relationships were a big part of the reason Griffin chose to commit to Boston College.
“Honestly, they just stay in touch with me and tell me exactly what they want to use me for, how they're going to use me, how they're going to get me the ball,” he said of the BC coaches. “Basically just the relationships with the coaches and being comfortable.
Penn State’s staff has also been reaching out to Griffin recently.
The Central star said he plans on learning more about Notre Dame and would eventually like to visit South Bend to see it for himself.
